About Autumn
A person beside you.
Room to be yourself.
I’m Autumn Halliwell, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. My approach is collaborative, conversational, and attentive to the context of your life.
A little about the person beside you
I’m easygoing, sensitive, and a little witty, silly, and whimsical. People have long turned to me for a listening ear, and I value being someone who can listen closely and offer a gentle challenge when it’s needed. Spending time with me is low-pressure; I appreciate a good conversation, a board game, or simply being together without needing to fill every silence.
I’m Jewish and polyamorous. Kindness to animals, protecting our planet, and creating a more just society are close to my heart. I became a therapist because I know how much it matters to find support that understands something of your world. Helping people navigate this challenging, frenetic life is one of my greatest joys.
Outside of therapy, I’m drawn to nature and the rhythm of the seasons: watching a snowfall, noticing birds and small animals going about their days, or beginning a morning with coffee and a wander through a farmers market. I’m equally happy having a quiet day at home, with music giving the day its own beat.
Owls are my favorite animals, and I’m a huge fan of Kuma Kuma Bear and With You and the Rain. I have a soft spot for an easygoing, cottagecore kind of life—and I’m always listening to the moon.
We’ll begin with your experience.
I’m interested in the stories that shape how you see yourself—and whether those stories leave enough room for the person you want to be. Above all, I see therapy as a space where people can loosen the grip of shame, reconnect with themselves, and grow a life that feels more fully their own.
I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, relationships, self-worth, burnout, and the complicated experience of being human in a demanding world. I also enjoy supporting animal care professionals as a veterinary social worker.
Curiosity rather than assumptions.
Working with polyamorous people and those in consensual kink and alternative relationships is an important part of my practice. You do not need to teach me the basics or defend these parts of your life. I offer care grounded in curiosity, familiarity, and respect for the relationships that matter to you.
I provide gender-affirming care for clients exploring gender identity, transition, authenticity, and self-understanding in ways that honor both safety and self-expression.
A place of understanding.
I cherish working with all forms of neurodiversity and with people living with chronic illness, pain, fatigue, and fluctuating capacity. I also offer non-integrative treatment for DID and OSDD, guided by your goals and what you need from therapy.
I aim to create a space where you do not have to spend your energy educating me about who you are or how you move through the world. I approach clients with humility, openness, and familiarity with the experiences many neurodivergent, queer, chronically ill, and marginalized people carry, so that therapy can begin from a place of understanding rather than explanation.
Your experience is your own. I’ll stay curious about what matters to you, listen to how you describe your life, and welcome your perspective throughout our work together.

Your life doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
As a social worker, I care about more than what happens inside the therapy room. Safety, basic needs, community, and the systems around you matter. We can make space for those realities, too.
Like tending a forest path, healing is rarely linear, but it can become gentler when you do not have to walk it alone.
A place to begin
You don’t need to have
the whole story figured out.
We can start with what’s here, and take the next step together.
